Tattoo Removal Aftercare

Here are some of the guidelines for laser tattoo removal aftercare:

  • Keep the treated area clean and dry. Wash the area with soap and water two to three times a day. You can also apply a cool compress to help reduce swelling and redness.

  • Avoid scratching or picking at the treated area. This can lead to infection and scarring.

  • Use sunscreen on the treated area and avoid sun exposure. Sun exposure can make the treated area darker or lighter than the surrounding skin.

  • Avoid swimming, hot tubs, and saunas for at least two weeks after treatment. These activities can increase your risk of infection.

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing over the treated area. This will help to prevent the area from rubbing or chafing.

  • Expect some redness, swelling, and bruising. These side effects are usually mild and go away within a few days.

  • If you experience any severe side effects, such as bleeding, blistering, or severe pain, contact your Therapist or the laser tattoo removal clinic immediately.

Here are some additional tips that may help speed up the healing process:

  • Drink plenty of fluids. This will help to keep your skin hydrated and promote healing.

  • Get enough rest. Your body needs time to heal, so it is important to get enough rest.

  • Eat a healthy diet. Eating a healthy diet will give your body the nutrients it needs to heal.

  • Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Smoking and drinking alcohol can slow down the healing process.

It is important to follow your laser tattoo removal provider's instructions for aftercare. They may have additional recommendations that are specific to your treatment pathway.
